About
Why Shilalekh
A shilalekh is an inscription carved in stone. Across Nepal, stone inscriptions have kept the words of kings, poets and ordinary people for more than a thousand years.
We built Shilalekh to give everyone a modern version of that stone. You write the words. We review them with care. Then we publish them on Arweave, a decentralized network designed to store data permanently.
We are Nepal focused. Prices are in NPR. Payments use eSewa and Khalti. Many of our writers live abroad and write home.
What we promise
- A real person reviews every letter before it is published.
- We never publish a letter until the upload is confirmed.
- We collect only what we need to run the service.
- We are honest about what blockchain storage can and cannot do.
What we do not claim
Arweave stores data. It does not verify who wrote a letter, whether it is true, or whether it has legal force. A Shilalekh certificate is a record of publication, not a legal document.
